Monday, May 6th

Petunia and the Vipers kick off their May Monday night residency at the Wise Hall lounge tonight. Go check out this eclectic band whose music defies catergorization... "A new music that springboards off of music of the past and jumps into the present day, left with only echoes of the past… Something in between 1920’s and steam punk".

8pm to 11pm, suggested donation $10.


Tuesday, May 7th

Underneath the Harlem Moon is a smokey soul-era Harlem cabaret here in the heart of Gastown! Curated and produced by local soul songstress Ms. Krystle Dos Santos and featuring a variety of spoken word & vocal guests each month.

9:30pm at Guilt & Company, by donation.


Wednesday, May 8th

Can you spot the LIAR?? Story Story Lie has one simple premise: Vancouver’s best storytellers and comedians share high-stakes, near-impossible, unique stories that seem too tall to be true. The catch? Only ONE of the SIX stories is a lie. Featuring a roster of hilarious humans, including Black Out Comedy's Ola Dada, and Burcu of Burcu's Angels. Rio Theatre.

$12 at the door, doors 6:30, show 7pm.


Thursday, May 9th

Get your fill of dub, and delicious Caribbean cuisine at the Calabash Bistro. MR D3, aka Mad Riddim Dub Trio is the core members of Vancouver's acclaimed reggae and dub specialists Mad Riddim, present an intimate dub exploration of the music of the legendary band Black Uhuru. With special guest, Janelle Reid.

Show starts at 9:30pm.

Saturday, May 11th

Fish Sung Sounds is a performance music series in East Vancouver made for intimate listening of the emerging and established sounds of local musicians. This week check out the music of Lauren Mann and Emily Best with their bands, presented at East Van's What Lab.

8pm, $10 at the door.


It's that time again... Man Up: Spring Amateur Hour! Queers and Beers kicks off their first outdoor event of the season at the Clubhouse at 4pm, then stick around to check out Vancouver drag's risings stars starting at 10pm, and dancing until 2am.

La Vida Život! A night of Balkan Mariachi music! Join Las Estrellas de Vancouver and Zlatna Mountain for a collaborative event celebrating two cultures.
